Panhandle

The Panhandle is not one place. It's many.

From Navarre's untouched quiet in the west to Panama City Beach's 27 miles of sand and energy in the east — Florida's Panhandle stretches across more range of character, community, and coastal experience than most visitors realize. CoHaven operates across all of it.

What the Panhandle is.

The Florida Panhandle runs along the northern Gulf Coast — a stretch of sugar-white quartz sand and emerald-green water that has drawn visitors from across the Southeast for generations. The sand is the same from one end to the other. The communities are not.

The Panhandle is where you find Florida's most relaxing beach alongside some of its most active. Small-town fishing villages alongside international resort destinations. Low-rise residential neighborhoods alongside communities designed from the ground up for a certain kind of beach lifestyle.

That range is part of why it works well for co-ownership. Different groups want different things. The Panhandle has most of them.

Navarre: the quiet western anchor.

Navarre sits at the western edge of CoHaven's Panhandle market — 25 miles east of Pensacola, 25 miles west of Destin, and a world away from both in terms of pace.

Travel + Leisure has called Navarre Beach Florida's most relaxing place. Condé Nast Traveler ranked it among the best beaches in the country. The recognition is consistent because the experience is consistent: pristine quartz sand, Gulf Islands National Seashore to the west, Navarre Beach Marine Sanctuary offshore, and a community that has deliberately preserved its character rather than maximizing development.

Florida's longest Gulf pier — 1,545 feet — extends into the water from Navarre Beach Marine Park. The Sea Turtle Conservation Center and the artificial snorkel reef system offshore make Navarre a destination for people who want nature alongside their beach time.

For co-owner groups who want the Emerald Coast experience without the density of Destin — Navarre is where that exists.

The core: Destin, Miramar Beach, Fort Walton Beach, 30A.

The heart of the Panhandle market runs from Fort Walton Beach east through Destin and Miramar Beach and out along the 30A corridor. This is the most established, most varied, and most active stretch of the coast.

Destin brings the full-service Emerald Coast experience — the World's Luckiest Fishing Village, HarborWalk Village, Silver Sands Premium Outlets, Crab Island, Sandestin golf, and the depth of dining and entertainment that makes it the primary draw for the region. > Explore Destin

Miramar Beach is where CoHaven's founder owns — residential, low-rise, one step from Scenic Gulf Drive and the beach. > Learn more about Miramar Beach

30A threads through communities designed for a particular kind of coastal living — Rosemary Beach, Alys Beach, WaterColor, Seaside. Thoughtful architecture, walkable village centers, and a quieter pace than Destin. Higher price points. Strong sense of place.

Panama City Beach: the energetic eastern anchor.

At the eastern edge of CoHaven's Panhandle market, Panama City Beach stretches 27 miles along the Gulf — averaging 320 days of Florida sunshine per year and offering the broadest activity profile on the coast.

PCB is where you go when the group wants everything available and close together. St. Andrews State Park and the shuttle to Shell Island for pristine undeveloped beach. Deep-sea fishing charters for grouper, snapper, and mahi-mahi in the Gulf. Pier Park for shopping, dining, and the SkyWheel. Shipwreck Island Waterpark for families. Sunset dolphin cruises on St. Andrews Bay.

Panama City Beach also tends to offer more accessible property price points than the markets to its west — which means co-ownership groups can sometimes access more property for the same capital. > Explore Panama City Beach

Small town to thriving beach city — the Panhandle has your version.

One of the reasons the Panhandle works well for diverse co-owner groups is range. Eight owners rarely want exactly the same thing from a beach destination — and the Panhandle rarely forces a single answer.

If some owners want quiet mornings and uncrowded sand, Navarre delivers it. If others want the full coastal entertainment experience, Destin and Panama City Beach deliver that too. The co-owner group aligns on a specific property and location during the formation process — and the Panhandle's range means that alignment can serve a wide variety of preferences.

Why co-ownership fits the Panhandle specifically.

The Panhandle's price range — particularly at the quality end of the market — is exactly the range where co-ownership changes the equation most meaningfully. Quality Gulf-front and Gulf-view properties in this market run $500,000 to $1.2 million. That number makes solo ownership a stretch for most buyers. A co-ownership share makes the same property possible.

The Panhandle's coastline is finite. There is no more Gulf-front land being added. The communities and properties that exist here are largely what will always exist.
