CoHaven's Co-Owner Matching Services

You don't need to come with a group.

One of the most common reasons people don't pursue co-ownership is simple: they don't have five or seven other people ready to go. They assume they need to solve that before approaching anyone. They don't. CoHaven curates compatible group profiles and presents them to you — you decide which one is the right fit.

How group profiles work.

After your Owner Planning Session, CoHaven builds your co-owner profile — your usage preferences, timeline, property criteria, and financial position. That profile is compared against other prospective owners with compatible goals, and CoHaven assembles candidate group profiles: anonymized snapshots of a potential group, showing usage patterns, timeline, target property range, and budget — no names, no identities.

You review the group profile. If it looks like a fit, you can claim a seat. If it doesn't, no action is needed — CoHaven continues working to present other compatible options as they come together.

What's in a group profile.

Usage pattern - The general shape of when the group wants to use the property — peak summer, shoulder season, school breaks, or a mix.
Timeline - How soon the group is aiming to close, so you know whether the pace matches your own.
Property criteria - General location, size, and property type the group is targeting.
Budget range - The general price range the group is evaluating, so you can confirm it fits your own financial position.
Open seats - How many seats remain in the group and how many are already claimed.

No names, bios, or identifying details are shared at this stage. The group profile tells you whether the fit looks right — not who specifically is in it.

Claiming a seat.

If a group profile looks like a fit, you claim your seat by placing your engagement deposit. Group profiles can be shown to more than one compatible prospective owner at a time, so the seat goes to whoever commits first.

This isn't a race CoHaven creates artificially — it's simply how a shared, limited resource works. We won't manufacture urgency or push you toward a decision during your Owner Planning Session or Discovery Session. If a group profile is a genuine fit for your situation, that's reason enough to act on it. If you pass or another prospective owner claims the seat first, CoHaven keeps working to present the next compatible option.

Some owners come in with people. That works too.

If you have one or two people you already want to own with — a sibling, a long-time friend, a colleague — CoHaven can build a candidate group profile around that starting point and present it alongside open seats for additional compatible co-owners.

What doesn't work is arriving with a full, unvetted group and expecting CoHaven to simply approve it. Part of CoHaven's value is the compatibility work behind every profile — not just confirming the numbers add up.

Meeting your group, once every seat is filled.

Once every seat in a group is claimed, CoHaven introduces the group to each other for the first time — facilitated, not just an email thread. This is where you put names and faces to the profile you committed to, ask any remaining questions, and confirm the group feels right as you move forward together.
From there, CoHaven moves the group into LLC formation and property search.

Why the group profile system works better than a blind match.

Co-ownership friction — the kind that leads to disputes or forced exits — almost always traces back to misalignment that existed before closing and was never surfaced. The group profile system puts the compatibility information directly in front of you, so you're the one deciding whether the fit is real, not taking CoHaven's word for it.

CoHaven still does the work of building compatible candidate pools in the first place — that's the part you don't have to do yourself. But the decision about whether a specific group is right for you is yours.

The Owner Planning Session is where your co-owner profile gets built. If you still have questions first, a Discovery Session is the right starting point.
